I went in expecting a straightforward gothic adaptation, but MazM flips the script by letting you inhabit both Jekyll's civilized facade and Hyde's violent impulses. The game unfolds as a branching narrative where dialogue choices and moral decisions genuinely alter which ending you see and how characters react to you. It's more visual novel than adventure game, though there's light puzzle-solving that never gets in the way of the story. The pixel art is sharp and atmospheric, capturing the grimy Victorian setting without pretension. What works is the core tension: you're constantly negotiating between restraint and release, knowing every decision echoes. What doesn't always land is pacing in the middle stretch, where exposition can feel deliberate. Still, if you want a psychological thriller that respects player agency and doesn't treat moral ambiguity as window dressing, this delivers.
