I went in blind on this one, and that's exactly how Machine With a Big Gun wants you to play it. You're controlling a tank with an oversized cannon, moving through bite-sized stages that riff on classic arcade mayhem but with a weird, indie sensibility that refuses to explain itself. The controls are tight, the levels are short enough to replay, and there's a playful disdain for handholding that older arcade fans will recognize instantly. It's not trying to be profound or break new ground. What it does is lean into one simple loop, aim, fire, survive, and execute it competently across a handful of stages. If you're hunting for a 30-minute distraction with personality, this delivers. Don't expect depth or a story, but do expect a game that knows exactly what it is.
