I went into Luxor 2 HD expecting a relic, and found something that still works. You control a cannon at the screen's base, rotating to aim, firing spheres up a winding path to match three or more of the same color. The path creeps forward as you play; let spheres reach the top and you lose. It's a mechanical premise so clean it barely needs explanation, and after 18 years that simplicity hasn't aged. The HD refresh gives it modern polish without messing with the core loop. New effects are eye candy rather than distraction. There's nothing here to confuse strategy types or speed-runners seeking frame-perfect input; this is pure, unambiguous match-three arcade pleasure. If you want a game that asks nothing but focus and a steady hand for an hour at a time, Luxor 2 HD delivers exactly that.
