Four fighters in one slot, each with a distinct weapon and moveset - the TMNT DLC is the kind of crossover that shouldn't work in a DC fighter but absolutely does. Pick your turtle, pick your poison.

I had genuine doubts about this one before loading it up. Dropping the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into a roster of Batman villains and DC demigods sounds like a joke pitch, but NetherRealm pulled it off with enough craft that skepticism fades fast. The implementation alone is clever: rather than a single character slot, you get four distinct fighters tied to a weapon accessory system. Equip the katanas and you're playing Leonardo; swap to sais and Raphael takes his place. Each turtle brings a genuinely different moveset built around his signature weapon - Donatello's bo staff gives him range that the others lack, while Michelangelo's nunchakus lean into faster, scrappier pressure. The shared Super Move (a coordinated all-four beatdown that ends with a pizza box) is fanservice done right. The character power system lets the other turtles step in to assist during a fight, which means you're never fully separated from the rest of the crew. It's not a full tag mechanic, but it adds a second layer of personality on top of the already distinct base movesets. One small friction point: you only get three loadout slots until you hit level ten with the character, so if you want to practice all four turtles freely from day one you'll be dipping in and out of menus more than you'd like. It's a minor annoyance, not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing before you start. Beyond the character mechanics themselves, the DLC slots into Injustice 2's existing single-player infrastructure well. The Multiverse tower mode gives you something to grind even without a regular online opponent, and the gear system means Mother Boxes keep dropping character customisation options as you play. The pre-match dialogue lines - Leonardo comparing opponents to Bebop, Michelangelo's Mortal Kombat trophy quip - show that real attention went into making these feel like the TMNT rather than a generic ninja reskin. The victory pose is a direct nod to the 1987 cartoon intro, which will either land perfectly or fly straight over your head depending on your age. The honest caveat here is context: this is DLC. It requires Injustice 2, and its value depends entirely on how much time you already have in that game. If you're a lapsed Injustice 2 player looking for a reason to return, this is a strong one. If you're brand new to the game and considering the full package, the TMNT are a genuine highlight of a roster that already includes Sub-Zero, Raiden, and Hellboy. If you only mildly enjoyed Injustice 2 and moved on, four turtle variants probably won't reverse that verdict. Alex, Scout Team
