Three DLC drops bundled at a discount: Götterdämmerung rewrites Germany's Focus Tree, Graveyard of Empires gives Asian minors some long-overdue depth, and Prototype Vehicles adds visual flavour for tank nerds.

Expansion Pass 1 is Paradox's first attempt at a seasonal-pass model for Hearts of Iron IV, and it bundles three distinct content releases together with a pair of instant-unlock bonuses. The headline piece is Götterdämmerung, a full expansion built around Germany and Central Europe. It overhauled the German Focus Tree with branching alternate histories, introduced Special Projects research (nuclear programs, advanced rocketry, experimental superweapons), and added raid mechanics that let you strike key enemy targets directly. From a decision-density standpoint it is the most substantive thing in the pass, and if Germany is already your most-played nation it adds a serious number of new branches to map out. The second release, Graveyard of Empires, is a country pack covering several under-served Asian nations: the Indian Raj, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan each receive expanded National Focus trees and more historical flavour events. It is not a systems expansion, so do not expect new mechanics, but if you have ever wanted to survive as a minor power in South and Central Asia without feeling like you are playing on a blank canvas, this fills that gap meaningfully. Community feedback has been lukewarm-to-decent: Afghanistan in particular has been praised for its focus paths, while Iraq drew criticism for a thin communist branch and some content that feels underdeveloped. Graveyard of Empires is serviceable but benefits from a future patch pass. Prototype Vehicles is purely cosmetic, adding dozens of 3D art models for rare and unusual WWII vehicle prototypes. No new mechanics, no stats changes. If you play with a close camera and appreciate visual fidelity, you will notice it; if you spend most of your time in the operational map layer, you will not. The two instant bonuses bundled at purchase are three German tank models (the Panzer-Selbstfahrlafette II, the VK.3001, and the Löwe) and a music track called Rides of the Valkyrie composed by Martin Hall. Worth noting: players who already owned the classic music pack flagged that the track was not entirely new to them, so check your library before weighing that as a selling point. The value question is straightforward math. Paradox quoted around a 20% discount versus buying each piece individually, and that hold-up applies mainly to Götterdämmerung doing the heavy lifting. The expansion pass model itself drew the usual forum skepticism about paying upfront for content that is not fully delivered yet, and the non-refundable nature of pass content once unlocked is a real limitation worth knowing before you commit. For a returning Germany main who wants fresh focus-tree decisions and is happy to pick up two bonus content drops over the following months, the pass makes sense. For players who mostly run Soviet, UK, or US campaigns, Götterdämmerung alone may be the smarter targeted purchase rather than the full pass. Diego, Scout Team

Veredicto de GamerScout

Worth it if Germany is your main and you want the Special Projects depth - otherwise buy Götterdämmerung solo and skip the pass.
