I went in expecting a physics sandbox and got exactly that, Gadgeteer strips away narrative and just hands you parts, constraints, and a puzzle to solve. You're assembling gadgets from basic components to meet objectives, which means trial-and-error with gravity, timing, and spatial reasoning. It's lean and focused, which works if you're the type who finds satisfaction in watching a half-built machine suddenly click into place. The VR implementation makes assembly tactile in ways a flatscreen couldn't match, though there's not much here beyond the core loop. No progression systems, no unlocks, no meta-game. That's either refreshingly honest or disappointingly thin depending on whether you came for pure puzzle solving or a game with hooks to keep pulling you back. Best for tinkerers who love VR's hands-on feel and don't need much else.
