I spent a couple hours with Edgar expecting a straight platformer, and what I found instead was a genre-mashup that doesn't quite nail any single thing but has enough personality to make that work. You're navigating levels that demand platforming precision one moment, then ask you to think tactically about enemy placement or resource management the next. The pixel art is charming, movement feels responsive, and there's a real sense of discovery when you figure out how a level's gimmick is supposed to work. The rough edges show: some design choices feel unclear at first, and you'll restart sections because the game didn't telegraph what it wanted. That said, there's no bloat here. Edgar knows what it is - a scrappy indie title that trusts you to figure things out. If you're tired of polished AAA handholding and want something that respects your problem-solving instincts, this hits different.
