A post-apocalyptic crafting RPG descends underground - more DYSMANTLE, for better and worse, with new enemies and loot to smash your way through.

DYSMANTLE: Underworld is paid DLC for the base survival-crafting RPG DYSMANTLE, pulling you down into subterranean zones filled with new enemy types, gear, and the same core loop that made the original tick: smash everything, craft gear from the rubble, level up, repeat. If you bounced off the base game, nothing here changes the formula enough to win you back. But if you sank comfortable hours into the post-apocalyptic overworld and wanted more, the Underworld answers that call with a reasonable expansion of content. The underground setting does shift the atmosphere noticeably. Claustrophobic tunnels replace the open overgrown landscapes above, which creates a tighter, moodier feel. New enemy variants and environmental hazards push you to re-evaluate gear builds you might have cruised on in the late game. The loot pool expands, and there are fresh crafting materials gated behind the DLC zones, which gives established characters something to actually chase. Combat remains the same real-time brawler with melee and ranged options, cooldown-managed skills, and the steady drip of stat upgrades - nothing reinvented, just extended. Where the DLC earns its mixed reception is in density of meaningful content. The Underworld areas can feel like corridors of combat with limited narrative payoff. The writing in the base game was sparse to begin with - functional lore, not the kind of worldbuilding you piece together across journals and NPC dialogue. Down here it gets sparser. If you came to DYSMANTLE hoping for character arcs or decisions that ripple forward, you were already playing the wrong game, and the DLC does not course-correct. It is, at its core, more room to dismantle things. Co-op via split screen or remote play remains intact, which is worth noting because grinding new underground zones with a friend smooths over the repetition considerably. The new crafting progression integrates with your existing character rather than resetting you, so the power curve feels earned rather than artificially inflated. That said, the roughly 64 percent positive Steam score tells a story: people who love the loop love this addition, people who wanted evolution were left flat. For DYSMANTLE fans who cleared the surface and still want more underground crawling with new gear to chase, this delivers exactly what it says on the label. Just do not expect the dungeon to have much to say for itself. Monika, Scout Team
