I went in expecting a gimmick game and found something genuinely janky but charming. Drunken Samurai leans hard into its premise: your character doesn't walk straight, momentum carries you past platforms, and swinging your sword feels more like flailing than finesse. The platforming is loose and forgiving in ways that actually work once you stop fighting the physics and lean into the wobble. Combat is simple (hit things, avoid things) but the dizzy movement model makes timing your attacks fun rather than frustrating. This is a 2021 indie title with zero marketing footprint and no Steam presence, which tells you everything about its ambitions. It's not refined, it's not deep, and it won't hold your attention for 40 hours. What it does is deliver a weird little platformer that knows exactly what it is and commits to the bit. If you like deliberately awkward movement as a core mechanic (think QWOP energy), there's something here worth poking at for an afternoon.
