Diablo 3

I spent hundreds of hours in Diablo 3 after Reaper of Souls fixed the core game's problems, and the campaign loop of smashing demons and hunting better loot still scratches that itch. You pick a class, run through five acts of linear story, then commit to Rifts and Greater Rifts on higher difficulties where the real grind lives. Itemization is straightforward, bigger numbers feel better, set bonuses define your build, and there's genuine satisfaction in pushing that difficulty slider up and watching your numbers actually hold. The 2017 console versions (this appears to be a Battle.net key port listing) brought quality-of-life fixes and faster gameplay pace, though the vanilla launch's design legacy still shows in places. Campaign is a one-time story; endgame is where Diablo 3 justifies its existence, and seasons give you reason to return. It's not reinventing hack-and-slash, but it's reliable, addictive when a new item drops, and far better than whatever state you remember from 2012.
