The Final Shape, as the saga's closing chapter, benefits from the emotional weight of everything before it, but it rewards players who have actually played through the earlier expansions rather than skipped to the end. A few things to read before you buy: dungeon keys for The Witch Queen, Lightfall, and The Final Shape are sold separately and are not included here. Those dungeons are some of the best mid-tier endgame content Destiny 2 has, so budget for them if you plan to go deep. The collection also requires the free base game and a persistent internet connection - this is a live-service game through and through, for better or worse. For a lapsed Guardian who dropped off before The Witch Queen, or a newcomer willing to put in the time, this collection covers an enormous amount of ground. Players who purely want endgame raids and strikes and have zero interest in campaign storytelling will find some of the older packs thinner on immediate payoff.
