CRSED: F.O.A.D. - Metal Zombie Pack (DLC)

I'll be straight with you: reviewing a character DLC pack for a free-to-play battle royale is mostly a value question, and with the Metal Zombie Pack the answer is "yes, but only if you already like CRSED: F.O.A.D." For everyone else, some context first. CRSED started life as an April Fools joke called Cuisine Royale, a battle royale where players strapped kitchen colanders on their heads for armor. Darkflow Software eventually leaned into the absurdity with full commitment, overhauling the game into a proper hero-shooter battle royale where each Champion brings a unique supernatural ability to the classic drop-in, loot-and-survive formula. The base game is free, so this pack is strictly for players ready to spend. Louis "Bokor" Celine is the reason to look at this pack at all. Born in Haiti, his backstory ties him to voodoo tradition and the loa spirits, and that lore actually feeds directly into how he plays. His core ability, "Raise Dead", lets him summon up to three zombies armed with automatic weapons. Those zombie escorts follow Louis around the map and attack enemies on sight, turning him into a one-man patrol. Re-casting the ability when you already have zombies out teleports them back to you and heals them, which matters in late-game circles when attrition starts picking them off. It is a genuinely distinct playstyle in a game where mystic powers already sit alongside realistic rifles, flamethrowers, and mortar fire. The voodoo staff included in the pack is a functional melee weapon available to any character you own, not just Louis, which is a small bonus worth noting even if melee rarely wins gunfights in a ranged-combat-heavy game. The Metal Zombie suit is the other headline item, and it is Louis-exclusive cosmetically. It looks exactly as industrial-horror as the name suggests. The 700 Golden Crowns round out the bundle and can be spent on the Battle Pass, cosmetics in the in-game store, or exchanged for Eternal Grace to unlock more mystic powers. Buying the pack does work out cheaper than purchasing the character and crowns separately, so the bundling logic holds up. The honest caveat is that CRSED: F.O.A.D. is a game with a modest but committed playerbase. It is not Warzone. If you bounce off the base game, nothing in this pack changes the underlying loop. Louis is genuinely fun to pilot if you enjoy a support-adjacent disruptor who operates with a squad of AI-controlled backup, but his zombie followers cannot ride in vehicles and will trail behind if you drive, which can break the fantasy at the worst moments. That is a real mechanical limitation to know going in. For active CRSED players on Xbox who want a character that actually plays differently from the default roster, Louis is one of the more interesting unlocks available. The pack format is the right way to get him.
