Blood High!

Blood High is exactly the kind of deranged action game that lives in the margins of indie releases. You're a vampire torn in half, literally: your body stays grounded as a shooter platform while your detached head zooms around executing enemies. You fire blood as ammo, which sounds gimmicky until you realize the entire economy of the game revolves around managing that resource while staying alive. The boomer shooter bones are there - fast movement, spray-and-pray combat, arena-style encounters - but with a macabre spin that makes even the basic mechanics feel fresh. It's hardcore and over-the-top in exactly the way that line promises. The Blood High Mode (triggered by overfilling your HP) sounds like a panic button that rewards aggression, which is peak arcade design. No Steam reviews exist yet, so this is squarely a "trust the concept" purchase if you're hungry for something that doesn't play it safe. If you've burned out on polished action games and want something weird and punishing, Blood High is worth the leap.
