I spent a few hours with Argonus and found myself in the mindset of a 90s adventure game fan. You're stranded on an island and must solve environmental puzzles, manage inventory, and negotiate with NPCs to progress. The developers behind Shadowgate clearly know the formula: deliberate pacing, item-based logic, and a world that feels more interested in lore than action. The Greek mythology setting gives it flavor, and the pixel-art direction is charming enough. What holds it back is uneven puzzle design and some obtuse solutions that feel more like guesswork than lateral thinking. Controller support helps, but the interface can feel clunky when juggling multiple quest threads. If you want a slow-burn adventure where you're reading tooltips and experimenting with combinations rather than dodging enemies, this scratches that itch. Everyone else should probably skip it.
