I picked up the Onslaught Pack expecting a meaningful strategic refresh for Warhammer 40K: Gladius, and what's here is functional but narrow. The eight new units genuinely do unlock fresh build paths and force you to recalculate your opening engagements, which matters in a tactics game where unit synergy drives 80 percent of your decision-making. The problem is scope: this isn't a campaign expansion or a new faction with asymmetric mechanics. It's eight units, dropped into existing armies, which means you're paying for incremental roster bloat rather than a structural overhaul. Worth it only if you've logged serious hours in Gladius and want to break habitual army compositions. Otherwise, wait for a deeper expansion or grab the base game at a discount first. The tactical layer is there, but the value proposition here is thin.
