About The Childs Sight
The Childs Sight asks you to piece together a story from an infant's vantage point, watching blurred scenes and half-remembered moments accumulate into meaning. It's a visual narrative game, not a strategy sim, which makes me an odd fit to review it. But the core appeal is detective work: you're mining nostalgia and unreliable recollection for truth. The fragmentation mechanic, faded visuals, incomplete dialogue, carries real weight for the first hour. The problem is pacing. Once the novelty of child-eye perspective wears off, the game leans too heavily on walking between scenes and waiting for memory fragments to coalesce. There's no mechanical depth to latch onto, and the story doesn't deliver the payoff its setup promises. It's a short experience (2-3 hours), which works in its favor, but also means there's little room for the narrative to recover from its slower stretches. Solid concept, hollow execution.
