About Star Wars: Battlefront II
I've logged enough time in Battlefront II to see it transform from a cash-grab disaster into something actually playable. The Celebration Edition strips out the loot-box nonsense that nearly killed it on launch, leaving a straightforward multiplayer shooter where you pick a class (Assault, Heavy, Officer, Specialist) and fight across Star Wars maps that actually feel like the films. Lightsaber duels work. Starfighter combat is solid. The single-player campaign is forgettable, but it exists if you want a tutorial. The catch: this is an old game on life support. Player counts are thin, matchmaking can be slow, and DICE isn't pushing updates anymore. If you're after a living, thriving online shooter, look elsewhere. But if you want to relive 2017-2020 multiplayer Star Wars nostalgia without the predatory monetization, and you've got patience for queue times, it's worth a spin during a sale.
