Squadron: Sky Guardians
A niche flight-sim campaign following Iranian Air Force pilots through three historical periods, built on satellite mapping but hamstrung by a bare-bones UI and minimal production polish.

About Squadron: Sky Guardians
I approached Squadron: Sky Guardians knowing upfront this is a passion project, not a AAA production. The core premise is solid: three campaign chapters following different pilots across distinct eras, with real coordinate data and satellite-derived terrain. That attention to geographical authenticity shows promise for mil-sim enthusiasts. The problem is execution. Flight controls feel sluggish, the HUD is cluttered and poorly explained, and mission briefings lack the clarity you need to understand objectives beyond vague "patrol and engage" directives. This isn't a game that respects your time. Tutorials are sparse, feedback systems are muddled, and the AI doesn't consistently react to your presence. If you're hunting a deep campaign-driven flight sim with strong narrative framing, look elsewhere. If you want to tinker with a rough-edged indie project and don't mind fighting the interface as much as the enemy, there's a skeleton of something here worth exploring in very small doses.
