About Ramses: Rise of Empire
I approached Ramses expecting a Pharaoh-lite experience, and that's mostly what it delivers. You place buildings, gather resources, and watch your population grow from zero to a few thousand. The core loop is straightforward: farms feed workers, workers build structures, structures generate tax income. No complex supply chains or multi-layer logistics here. Tutorials are minimal but the interface is simple enough that trial-and-error works fine. The issue is pacing. Early game teaches you mechanics in about two hours, then the late game plateaus hard. You'll hit a point where you've built the palace, the temples are appeased, and there's nothing left but idle clicking. AI opponents exist but feel like scenery. If you want deep 4X strategy or 50-hour optimization, this isn't it. It's a casual puzzle wrapped in ancient Egypt skin, perfectly fine for a lazy afternoon but designed for a narrow audience.
