I'll be honest: Monster Prom Second Term isn't a strategy game, so I'm evaluating it on build variety and decision-making depth rather than macro mechanics. What you get is a party-game dating sim where you and up to three friends compete or cooperate to woo monsters before the dance. Each run takes 20 minutes, and your stat allocation (Nerdy, Funny, Cute, Spooky, Horny) shapes which dialogue routes unlock. The new cast of characters in Second Term branches dialogue further than the first game, so replaying actually reveals new paths instead of retreading old ones. Local multiplayer shines here if you have couch friends willing to trash-talk their romance options. The weakness is the prettyboy-anime art style won't appeal to everyone, and solo play lacks the competitive chaos that makes it fun. The level editor barely gets used in a game this short-form, and online matchmaking for PvP dating feels niche at best. If you're after tactical depth or narrative weight, look elsewhere. But if you want a low-stakes party game that rewards knowing the stat system and makes your friend group laugh for an evening, Second Term does exactly that.
