Kebab Chefs! - Restaurant Simulator
Four friends, one kebab grill, and way too many customers screaming for soups at the same time. Chaotic co-op restaurant management that's genuinely fun in bursts, if you can forgive its rough edges.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for groups of 2-4 who want co-op chaos with more depth than Overcooked, and can tolerate an occasionally buggy launch state.

About Kebab Chefs! - Restaurant Simulator
My Saturday night crew spent about six hours in Kebab Chefs before anyone noticed it was past midnight, and that tells you most of what you need to know about where this game lands. It is a first-person cooking and restaurant management sim built almost entirely around the energy of cooperative chaos, and when that chaos fires on all cylinders with a full lobby, it absolutely delivers. You prep food, man the grill, restock ingredients, hire NPC staff, decorate the dining room, and slowly grow a sad little kebab corner into something resembling a proper restaurant. The loop is immediately readable, even for players who have never touched a management sim before. The co-op structure is the spine of the whole thing. Up to four players share the same restaurant in online co-op, and the game is clearly designed with that headcount in mind. One person handles the grill, another restocks, someone else cleans up the mess the NPC staff somehow made, and the fourth stands around yelling at the menu screen trying to figure out whether to add BBQ or bakery items to the rotation. It is a great vibe for a group session. Solo play is a different story: the multitasking demands pile up fast, the lack of team banter makes the repetition obvious quicker, and the game never really disguises the fact that it was not built for one. If your friends list is empty on a given night, set this one down. The recipe and cuisine variety does genuine work here. You are not just flipping kebabs forever. The menu expands into soups, appetizers, desserts, and dishes pulled from different world cuisines, and building out your restaurant's menu with new recipes feeds a satisfying progression curve. The restaurant customisation layer, covering signboards, wallpapers, furniture layouts, and placeable cooking stations, gives you something to fiddle with between service rushes. There is also a storyline framing device where you are trying to revive a struggling family restaurant and eventually face off against gourmet chef rivals, which is thin as narrative goes but provides enough forward momentum to justify the grind. Here is where I have to be straight with you, though. Bugs are a real part of the experience right now. Players have flagged freezes, loading screens that do not end, item desync between co-op players, and AI staff that gets completely confused by certain furniture placements. The developer switched the multiplayer backend from cloud servers to a P2P system for the 1.0 launch specifically to address connection and desync complaints, which is the right call, but the community reports those fixes are still a work in progress. The pacing also has a genuine design tension: with a large customer count and a full four-player team, there can be long stretches where there is simply not enough to do and everyone is waiting for the day timer to tick over. Fixing that balance without breaking the solo experience is a hard problem and the game has not fully cracked it. Controller support is solid across DualShock and DualSense, which is worth noting if you want to play from the couch. There is no split-screen option, so the four-player co-op is strictly online. Free DLC has been added post-launch, which the community has flagged as a meaningful gesture from a small developer doing regular updates. If your crew likes Overcooked-style organised mayhem but wants something with more depth than a party game, this sits in a good middle space. Just go in knowing it plays best in shorter two-hour sessions before the repetition sets in.
