I've played a lot of rhythm games that feel like they're performing at you. Guns & Notes does something quieter: it hands you a gun, points at your music folder, and says "make something." You pick a genre template, upload an audio file, and the game procedurally generates a note stream synced to the beat. It's genuinely clever - your favorite underground artist or lo-fi playlist becomes the stage. The mechanic is simple (aim, shoot on rhythm), but the magic is in watching your own songs visualized as bullet patterns. The catch is that procedural generation is a ceiling, not a feature. There's no campaign, no progression, no reason to come back except to feed it another track. For six bucks, it's a cute toy for 30 minutes with friends or a soundtrack you love. But it knows what it is - a small, intentional experiment that doesn't overstay its welcome.
