Best for couch co-op fans who value arcade action loops over narrative depth.

About Gunman Tales
I went in expecting story beats and character arcs. What I found instead was pure arcade nostalgia: top-down isometric combat, procedural loot drops, and couch co-op that actually works across four controllers. Gunman Tales wears its Moonstone inspiration on its sleeve, and that's both its strength and its ceiling. The Wild West setting is lean but functional, serving as a coat of paint over a classic hack-and-slash loop. If you're hunting for dialogue-driven RPG moments or elaborate quest design, keep walking. This is a game about grinding dungeons with friends, watching numbers climb, and occasionally finding a weapon that feels slightly better than the last one. The split-screen PvP mode and local multiplayer focus suggest it knows exactly what it is: a weekend party game, not a 100-hour campaign. That clarity has value, even if it means accepting less worldbuilding than modern RPGs provide.
