FINAL FANTASY I-VI Bundle

I went into this bundle expecting a faithful trip down memory lane. Instead, I found six games that feel like they were ported to PC on autopilot: stiff UI, uneven scaling on modern monitors, and that peculiar floatiness you get when old console RPGs meet a keyboard. The core experiences, FF1's stripped-down dungeon crawling, FF3's job-switching strategy, FF6's operatic worldbuilding, are still there under the technical roughness. If you've never played these originals, though, you're better served by the actual sprites and sound design on a retro system or emulator. What saves this bundle is that the games themselves remain mechanically solid and narratively charming by 80s standards. FF4's turn-based drama and FF5's absurd class flexibility still hold up. You're not getting enhanced graphics or rebalanced encounters, just the same games your parents' generation loved, filtered through a port that prioritizes cheap licensing over craftsmanship.
