FIFA 09
A 15-year-old FIFA entry that's basically unplayable online now, but surprisingly solid if you just want legacy single-player football.

About FIFA 09
FIFA 09 came out when the series was still figuring out its identity, and it shows. The core gameplay is competent - passing, shooting, and defending feel responsive enough for a 2008 release. Career mode exists if you want to manage a team through seasons, and the match engine doesn't embarrass itself on simulation terms. Squad-based tactics work, player cards matter, the usual EA sports structure is there. The problem is obvious: it's ancient. Online servers are long dead, so multiplayer is out. The AI can feel predictable, graphics are from an era you have to squint at, and modern FIFA players will find the controls clunky. It's only worth your time if you're specifically chasing a nostalgia kick or want a historical snapshot of pre-Ultimate Team football games. Otherwise, FIFA 17 or later is a better choice even for older hardware. Alex, Scout Team
