GamerScout Verdict
Best for co-op players who want to wreck stuff with friends and aren't too fussed about narrative coherence.

About Far Cry 5
I spent a solid 20 hours tearing through Hope County with a friend, and Far Cry 5 knows exactly what it's doing: dynamite gunplay, wild explosions, and enough side content to avoid the main plot if it bores you. The co-op is seamless, the weapon variety keeps things fresh, and the level editor gives you endless ammo for creativity. Problem is, the narrative setup (doomsday cult takeover) clashes hard with the tone, which leans arcade-silly rather than genuinely tense. It's a classic Far Cry formula that's aged fine for what it is. If you want a loud, destructible sandbox with a buddy online, this works. If you're hunting for a tight story or genuine horror, look elsewhere. The gunplay alone carries it past its rough edges.
