About Dead by Daylight: Ghost Face (DLC) (Xbox One)
Dead by Daylight's Ghost Face DLC drops the recognizable black-robed killer from the Scream franchise into the game's 4v1 asymmetric horror sandbox. If you already own the base game and you've been waiting for a killer who rewards patience and positioning over raw aggression, this chapter is the one to pick up. Ghost Face plays differently from most killers in the roster, leaning hard into a stalking mechanic that lets him crouch, cut his terror radius, and mark survivors by watching them long enough to expose them for a one-hit down. It's a playstyle built around information gathering before the strike, which feels distinct from the lunge-and-chase killers that dominate beginner lobbies. The DLC includes the Ghost Face killer, a Monochrome Maniac cosmetic body, and a Silvery Steel Tactical Knife. There's no new survivor or map bundled in here, which is worth noting if you're comparing the value against larger Dead by Daylight chapters that ship with a full survivor and their associated perks. What you're paying for is essentially the killer and his unique power set, plus the cosmetics. Ghost Face's core perks, I'm All Ears, Thrilling Tremors, and Furtive Chase, have all leaked into the general killer pool over time through the Shrine of Secrets, so veteran players may already have access to some of them without owning this DLC. New players won't have that luxury, but it's worth keeping in mind. On the fun meter, Ghost Face sits in an interesting spot. His stalking power has a real skill ceiling, and survivors who know the game well can actually interrupt your stalk by looking directly at you, canceling the mark. That give-and-take between killer and survivor is one of the more interactive mechanics in the entire roster and it makes matches feel more like a chess match than a simple chase. The downside is that he can feel underpowered in higher-rank lobbies where experienced survivors are very disciplined about breaking line of sight. He rewards creative routing and map awareness, so casual players who want a straightforward killer might get frustrated early. For fans of the Scream films specifically, there's obvious appeal here. The character is faithfully rendered and hearing the familiar breathing and seeing the costume in action inside Dead by Daylight's grim environments hits the right notes for horror fans who grew up with those movies. The cosmetics included are fine, nothing that stands out as spectacular, but they're serviceable additions to your collection. Overall this is a solid, niche pick for players who want a technically interesting killer with genuine counterplay baked into his design, just don't go in expecting a full chapter's worth of content.
