About Darkness and a Crowd
I approached Darkness and a Crowd expecting another forgettable early-access title, but it surprised me with its focus on tactical decision-making wrapped in an action shell. You're orchestrating a small team through hostile encounters where positioning, ability timing, and crew synergy matter more than twitch reflexes. The game respects your time: fights are short, feedback is immediate, and there's no bloat between combat sequences. The weak spot is exactly what you'd expect from a 2019 indie solo project: production values are rough, the story doesn't elevate the premise, and the early-access label means systems feel half-baked in places. That said, if you want strategic squad control without the 100-hour Paradox commitment, this scratches that itch. The mod ecosystem is nonexistent, and you're playing what Sylvia Sharpe built, but the core loop works. Diego, Scout Team
