Damage Control
A real-time ship management sim where you queue repairs and pray your skeleton crew survives the next hull breach before reaching port.
GamerScout Verdict
A salvageable premise hamstrung by Early Access limbo and UI friction; patience required, payoff limited.

About Damage Control
I've played enough management sims to recognize when a game bites off more than it can chew. Damage Control puts you in command of a damaged vessel limping through space, where you assign engineers to hull breaches, fires, and system failures in real-time. The core loop is sound: prioritize threats, manage fatigue, watch cascading failures spiral when you neglect the wrong section. But the mixed reviews tell the real story. Eight years post-launch and still in Early Access, the UI feels clunky, and the AI crew pathfinding creates friction that feels like a bug rather than a feature. Tutorial pacing is rough for newcomers unfamiliar with sim conventions. If you want a tightly designed management experience with clear feedback and progression, this isn't it. If you're a hardcore sim fan willing to wrestle with an unpolished gem and tolerate limited content, there's a genuine strategic skeleton here worth excavating. It's a niche game that needed either aggressive post-launch iteration or a full rewrite neither arrived.
