Compare Crookz the big heist prices across trusted key stores and find the best deal. Developed by Skilltree Studios. Published by Kalypso Media Digital. Released on 8/25/2015. Available on PC. Genres: Simulation, Strategy. Metacritic score: 74/100.

A 1970s-themed heist planner where careful positioning beats reflexes, but the campaign outstays its welcome after the novelty wears off.

I spent about 20 hours with Crookz, and the core loop is genuinely satisfying: scout a target, map guard patrol routes, position your crew, then execute the theft in real-time while you pray the variables align. It's Commandos-adjacent strategy without the combat grind. The 70s aesthetic is slick, controls are tight, and the puzzle-like mission design rewards methodical thinking. Layouts and guard patterns are consistent, so failure teaches you something. The problem is repetition. After the first 8-10 heists, you've seen most of the mechanics and guard archetypes. The campaign doesn't escalate difficulty much past the midpoint; it just reuses setups at slightly larger scales. AI guards are predictable once you've memorized their routines. For 15 USD it's a solid weekend puzzle-game, but don't expect 40 hours of content depth. If you love turn-based infiltration planning, Crookz delivers that specific itch cleanly. Just know the mission variety is finite. Diego, Scout Team
