About Board Defenders
I've played enough tower-defense hybrids to spot the gimmick immediately, but Board Defenders actually commits to its premise. You're placing chess pieces defensively on a grid, blocking enemy units with knight jumps and bishop diagonals. The core loop is tight: identify threats, position pieces, watch the logic solve itself. It's more puzzle than strategy, but the time-attack format keeps things snappy and the ruleset stays consistent enough that you can predict outcomes. The downside is scope. This is a 2016 indie title that feels it, and depth plateaus fast once you've locked down the core tactics. Single-player only, no ladder or leaderboard to anchor long-term engagement. Respectable for a Friday afternoon brain break, but don't expect Tarrasch-level complexity or build variety. It knows what it is. Diego, Scout Team
