Balan Wonderworld

I went in expecting a straightforward platformer and got something closer to a fever dream. Balan Wonderworld hands you 80+ costumes that change how you move, attack, and solve puzzles, some transformations are brilliant, others feel like they exist purely to fill a roster. The level design is inconsistent; some stages click perfectly while others waste your time with obtuse mechanics that don't mesh with the core loop. Solo play is serviceable, but co-op is where it comes alive. Playing with a friend turns the rough edges into entertainment rather than frustration. It's not polished, and it doesn't land every swing, but there's genuine creativity buried in here. If you want a weird, low-stakes action game to mess around with on the couch, you'll find moments worth the investment. Just don't expect a masterpiece.
