About Astral Ascent
I've spent enough time with Astral Ascent to know it respects your time. This is a bite-sized roguelite platform game where you face 12 mythological bosses across a garden prison, armed with spell combinations you build on the fly. The pixel art is clean and purposeful, and the combat feels snappy enough that even when you lose, you're already planning your next run. The four heroes play distinctly, and the spell system keeps runs fresh. Co-op splits the screen and lets a second player jump in, which transforms the experience from solo precision puzzle into chaotic teamwork. It's not a 40-hour commitment, but it doesn't try to be. The Metacritic score of 86 tracks with what I hear from people who finish it: a complete, intentional game that knows its scope and nails it.
