About Army of Squirrels
I picked up Army of Squirrels expecting a throwaway novelty title, but there's actual tactical meat here. You command a squad of squirrel soldiers across a grid-based battlefield, each unit type (acorn throwers, tank squirrels, etc.) filling distinct roles. The robot and human invaders scale in threat as you progress, forcing you to think about positioning and unit synergy rather than just throwing bodies at the problem. The tutorial is minimal and the UI feels cramped, which stings for a tactics game where reading the battlefield matters. Production values are decidedly indie-budget, and there's no mod support or campaign hooks that would justify grinding past the rough edges. It's a solid afternoon's worth of puzzle-combat if you like grid-based positioning games and can tolerate the visual clunk. Not a timeless classic, but respectable design for sub-5 dollar indie fare.
