ALVAROK

I spent a few hours with ALVAROK expecting another polished defense title, but what I found was a scrappy, ambitious indie take on simultaneous attack-and-defense mechanics. You juggle troops across offense and defense in real time, adapting formations as the AI (trained via deep learning, not just scripted patterns) reads your strategy. Local multiplayer is the intended showcase, and that's where the asymmetry actually forces decision-making: you can't just execute one gameplan. The rough edges are real. UI clarity suffers, tutorial hand-holding is minimal, and the 2017 graphics won't impress anyone. What matters is whether the core loop-managing multiple fronts while predicting an opponent's resource allocation-scratches that tactical itch. For strategy players comfortable with prototypical indie production values, it does.
