96% positive across 11,000+ Steam reviews for a first-person park builder that doubles as a ragdoll comedy machine. Solo or co-op, the chaos is the point.

I went in expecting a low-budget management sim and came out having lost an entire afternoon watching guests get absolutely launched across waterslides. That sums up Waterpark Simulator better than any feature list could. The core hook is a build-and-manage loop wrapped around physics so deliberately absurd that getting a good run going feels less like optimization and more like setting up the world's messiest domino chain. You start with an abandoned park and a hammer. The early grind involves clearing debris, repairing structures, and squeezing enough income from ticket sales to afford your first real slide. It sounds slow, and the opening hour can feel lean, but momentum builds fast. Once the Research Table unlocks, you start chaining upgrades, hiring staff to handle mopping and food service, and pushing your park rating toward that five-star ceiling. The management layer covers ticket pricing, guest satisfaction, food stalls selling hot dogs and lemonade, cleanliness, and slide quality. None of it is Planet Coaster-deep, but it hits a sweet spot where casual players can stay afloat without a spreadsheet and dedicated builders can still find meaningful decisions to make. The slide builder is where the game earns its reputation. You can construct gravity-defying flumes, vertical drops, and whirlpool bowls, then hop into first-person view and ride them yourself. That first-person perspective inside the slides is a genuine surprise, and it makes testing your own creations feel like a reward rather than a chore. The ragdoll physics do the rest. Guests launched into pools, flopping off diving boards when there is no water below, slipping on puddles and spinning into strangers. It is relentlessly funny, and it gives the game a personality that most management sims never bother to develop. You can also spray custom designs onto surfaces, repaint walls, swap flooring, and drop props and signs around the park, which means two people's parks will rarely look alike. The co-op side is real and functional online, which matters a lot for the crowd that buys this kind of game to play with friends rather than alone. Coordinating a park build with one person on construction and another on guest wrangling works well, and watching your partner accidentally send a guest into orbit never gets old. What the game does not currently offer is split-screen, so couch co-op is out. For the Saturday-night-with-friends crowd that is worth flagging. Online sessions hold up, but you will need separate machines. The 1.0 launch in July 2026 arrived with fresh multiplayer improvements, and the community reception at release has been strong, with the overwhelmingly positive Steam rating holding firm across a large review pool. The honest caveat is that the game shipped out of Early Access very recently. Some systems still feel like they want more depth and balancing, and the overall content density sits below genre veterans like Planet Coaster or Two Point games. If you need a polished, fully finished park sim with years of post-launch content behind it, look elsewhere. If you want something that is immediately fun, easy to share, and built around a physics gag that never quite stops being funny, Waterpark Simulator is in very good shape right now.
