Bring a couch full of friends and low expectations for depth - this gloriously dumb stealth-arcade game from a cult 2000s series is funnier than it has any right to be, and surprisingly playable at its budget price.

I genuinely did not expect to spend a Saturday afternoon hollering at a TV because my friend let shepherd Lars catch our ram mid-act, but here we are. Sven - Completely Screwed is the 3D revival of a German cult comedy series that originally launched in 2002, and after a 16-year gap it is back with fully hand-animated 3D environments and the same core loop: guide Sven the ram across 20 levels spread across five distinct areas - forests, swamps, and more - completing the flock before the timer runs out, all while dodging shepherd Lars and his dog Wotan who will beat you senseless if they catch you in the act. The core mechanic is simpler than anything I normally cover. You move to a sheep, hold the action button from the correct angle, and manage a happiness meter. Neglect a sheep too long and its mood drops, a black cloud appears over its head, and if you try to mount without whistling first you get kicked. Let it go even longer and it flips into a rage state and chases you. There are over 25 interaction variants unlocked as you progress, which mostly exist to keep the gag fresh rather than to add tactical depth. The AI on Lars and Wotan was reworked post-launch and they are legitimately threatening on higher difficulty runs - they will cut off escape routes and flush you out of hiding spots in a way that actually forces you to plan your sheep order rather than just blitz the nearest target. Where this gets genuinely worth loading up is local multiplayer. Up to four players in split-screen co-op or versus mode turns this into a chaotic party game that punches well above its weight. Co-op has you and friends dividing the flock for efficiency, versus pits you against each other for points - and the competitive friction of stealing another player's sheep mid-progress is legitimately funny. The post-launch 1.1.0 patch overhauled the difficulty modifier system so that repeated world and area runs escalate challenge meaningfully, and the high score table now applies a percentage bonus tied to difficulty level, which gives score-chasers a real reason to keep going past the base content. The weaknesses are real and worth naming. Solo singleplayer runs thin fast. The 20 stages clock in at around two hours in a straight shot, and while the five environments look different they do not change the underlying loop much. Early player feedback pointed out that the difficulty modifiers were nearly invisible before the patch, and even now the game simply does not have the systems depth to hold a solo player past a handful of hours. There is an online leaderboard, but no online multiplayer - everything competitive is couch-only. For a game that lives or dies on shared-screen chaos, that is the right call, but if your crew is not local it loses most of its appeal. As a shooter specialist I have no business caring this much about a stealth-arcade game about a lustful ram, but the movement controls are tight, the AI pursuit patterns have real teeth on higher difficulty, and the versus mode has actual competitive tension in a living room. It is not deep, it will not replace anything in your regular rotation, and it is absolutely not a solo purchase. Treat it as you would a party game at a budget price point, get three people on the couch, and the value equation works out. Fred, Scout Team
