Spirit of the Island - Adventureland
Charming tropical life-sim ambitions let down by a cluttered UI, a fragmented DLC structure, and a Mixed Steam rating that tells you exactly what you need to know before spending.
Veredicto de GamerScout
Worth it only if you already enjoy the base game and want a late-game resort layer - newcomers should temper expectations around the UI and DLC structure.

Acerca de Spirit of the Island - Adventureland
I came into Spirit of the Island - Adventureland with cautious optimism: a cozy farming-and-building sandbox with cross-platform online co-op, set across a tropical archipelago, sounds like a great low-stakes weekend. The core loop of the base game asks you to farm crops, raise animals, gather resources, cook dishes, craft items, build shops and a museum, and steadily attract tourists back to your once-thriving island. Adventureland layers on top of that by adding eight new structures - hotels, beach attractions, amusements, and upscale shops - so you can graduate from rustic homestead to full resort operator. On paper, the ambition is genuinely appealing. In practice, the seams show fast. The breadth of systems here is real. There are multiple skill tracks to level up - farming, cooking, crafting, foraging, mining, combat, electronics, fishing, and social, among others - and the archipelago spans several distinct islands to explore, each hiding caves, monsters to fight, ingredients to harvest, and treasures to collect. The museum functions as a living collectible log, filling up as you encounter fish, insects, plants, and relics. Combat is present and does add some texture to island-hopping: you can fight a Pirate Boss and work through dungeon-like cave systems, which is more than most farming sims bother with. For a certain type of player, the sheer density of things to do will feel like value. For others, it will feel like a checklist with no soul. The friction points are hard to ignore at 66 percent positive across nearly 1,900 Steam reviews. The user interface consistently gets in the way of the gameplay loop: storage restrictions feel punitive rather than strategic, tutorials are scattered instead of centralised, and your character walks slowly enough that the stamina-and-sleep system starts to feel like padding rather than design. The Adventureland content itself compounds the structural confusion: on some storefronts it ships as a separate executable rather than a clean DLC integration, which creates genuine save-management headaches and means controller navigation breaks when you try to access the new amusement park building category. That kind of rough edge in a released product is a friction tax the player should not be paying. Who is this actually for? If you already own the base game and enjoyed it enough to hit the later islands, Adventureland's resort-building additions do expand the late-game economy in a meaningful way: deciding whether your available land is better spent on an amusement park or a luxury hotel complex is a real trade-off, and the decoration systems let creative players make something visually distinctive. The online co-op, which is cross-platform, works and is the strongest argument for diving in with a friend who tolerates UI jank better than you might solo. But if you are coming in cold, be aware that the package as a whole is an ambitious hybrid - farming sim, RPG progression, town builder, light combat game - that has stretched itself thinner than it can comfortably hold. The writing and worldbuilding offer a light mystery about your character's origins, which is a fine narrative hook, but it never develops the kind of meaningful choice architecture that makes RPG fans re-load saves and ask "what if." Adventureland is not a disaster, and the developers have clearly put genuine effort into scope. But Mixed is Mixed for a reason, and the structural awkwardness of the DLC delivery is a problem that should have been solved before release, not left as a known community complaint.
