PGA TOUR 2K25
The best swing mechanics HB Studios has shipped, wrapped in a 2K monetization layer that keeps poking you in the ribs. Worth it for golf game fans, with caveats.
Veredicto de GamerScout
Strong shot mechanics and a rebuilt MyCareer make it the best 2K golf yet, but VC pressure and a thin pro roster are real trade-offs.

I came into PGA TOUR 2K25 with low expectations after 2K23 left the series sitting in EA's shadow, and the first few hours genuinely surprised me. The shot-to-shot gameplay is the tightest this series has ever felt, and that matters more than any feature list bullet point. The new EvoSwing system is the headline change, and it earns the attention: it tracks contact, rhythm, transition, and swing path independently, so a lazy tempo genuinely punishes you differently than a bad swing path. The two-thumbstick Swing Stick input responds to subtle variations in a way previous entries never did, and the result is a feedback loop that rewards repetition. Put in the hours reading greens and dialing in tempo, and the game starts clicking in a way that actually feels earned. The floor here is solid; the ceiling is higher than 2K23 ever managed. MyCareer is where most players will live, and it has been rebuilt in meaningful ways. You start by picking one of five archetypes, from recovery specialists to big hitters, each with their own Skill Tree spread across categories like Tee, Approach, Bunker, and Green. Club progression runs parallel, letting you slot boosts into individual irons and woods rather than just dumping points into a generic stat bar. The dynamic round length system is genuinely useful: you can play six holes of an eighteen-hole course and let the AI sim the rest, with the simulation quality adjustable to match your skill level. Before tournaments, optional training minigames hand out temporary stat buffs if you want them. None of it is mandatory, which is the right call. The new Ranked Tours mode adds daily and weekly seasonal events that mirror the real PGA Tour schedule, and cross-platform Societies let you build a community of golfers across PC and console without the usual platform walls. Now for the friction. The VC economy has arrived in full 2K fashion. Standard stat upgrades are tied to Virtual Currency, and while you can grind them out through play at a reasonable pace, the push toward VC packs is visible and will only get louder as seasons roll on. The Clubhouse Pass is non-expiring this time around, and most of the paid track is cosmetic, but the NBA 2K pipeline for this stuff is unmistakable. Menu navigation is also sluggier than it should be, with noticeable pauses between screens that add up over a long session. Commentary is flat and repetitive across the board. On the course count, the roster of roughly thirty licensed courses is respectable and includes some real showcases like Quail Hollow, but fans will notice gaps when it comes to the most famous venues in the world, where EA's PGA Tour still holds ground. The pro roster sits at eleven players, headlined by Tiger Woods, and that number feels thin at a AAA price point. For the competitive side: Ranked Tours uses Pro-Am difficulty or higher, which creates a genuine adjustment if you have been grinding MyCareer on the beginner-friendly Perfect Swing setting. That difficulty gap between career mode and online is worth knowing before you queue. The online infrastructure itself has improved, with faster matchmaking and cross-platform play working cleanly in testing. Steam reviews currently sit in mixed territory, though the overall critic consensus landed around an 82 on Metacritic for the console version, which tracks with what I found: a game that does the important things well and cuts corners on the surrounding experience. If you play golf games for the shot craft and the career grind, 2K25 delivers. If you want the sport's biggest stages and the deepest roster, you will still be waiting.
