Minecraft Dungeons
Couch co-op dungeon crawling wrapped in blocky Minecraft charm: a breezy action-RPG that shines brightest with three friends on the sofa and fades fast if you push it past the campaign.
Veredicto de GamerScout
Best for families or co-op groups wanting a light, accessible dungeon crawl; solo RPG veterans will hit the ceiling fast.

Acerca de Minecraft Dungeons
I came into Minecraft Dungeons expecting a cynical brand exercise, and left mildly surprised by how much genuine arcade fun Mojang and Double Eleven packed into its chunky, isometric levels. This is a Diablo-adjacent action-RPG stripped down to its most approachable bones: you move, you swing, you loot, you enchant, and you do it again. No skill trees, no classes to agonize over at character creation. Your build emerges entirely from whatever gear the game drops on you, and you shape it through an enchantment system that lets you spend salvaged gear points on passive upgrades attached to every weapon and piece of armor. Soul-powered artifacts sit in a separate slot and provide active abilities, ranging from summoning a wolf companion, to firing a Lightning Rod, to deploying a Totem of Regeneration. In a four-player session, all four abilities firing simultaneously produces the kind of gleeful chaos that papers over a lot of mechanical simplicity. The combat loop clicks well enough in the base campaign. Levels are semi-randomized, and the Minecraft mob roster translates surprisingly faithfully into dungeon-crawler enemies. Creepers explode with the same existential menace. Skeletons snipe from a distance. Witches throw splash potions. Boss encounters have visual clarity even when the screen fills with mobs. Weapon variety stretches from rapid-fire daggers and slow great hammers to bows and the soul-hungry Feral Soul Crossbow. None of these demand the kind of intricate spatial awareness a Souls-like requires, but the difficulty slider does open up Apocalypse difficulty tiers post-campaign, and Mojang has since revised the Apocalypse Plus system to push back against the old problem of players speed-running short maps to inflate their power level. Ancient Hunts, added in the Flames of the Nether update, give late-game players a procedural side-objective to chase for Gilded gear. It is a genuine attempt at endgame structure. Whether it sticks depends entirely on your tolerance for repetition. The honest answer to "who is this for" is not the CRPG crowd. There is no dialogue, no lore to read, no morally complicated choices. The story is voiced narration pointing you from biome to biome until you defeat the Arch-Illager. That is the whole campaign arc. As someone who genuinely cares about narrative payoff, I can confirm there is none here. What you get instead is a lean, session-friendly structure where each level can be cleared in fifteen to thirty minutes, which makes it a strong candidate for family co-op nights or genre introductions for younger players. Cross-platform and split-screen multiplayer are both supported, which is rarer than it should be in 2024 and worth flagging as a genuine strength. The cracks show once the campaign ends and you realize the endgame loop is essentially replaying the same level set at escalating difficulty tiers. The base game's mission count is modest. DLC packs expand it, but if you buy only the base release and exhaust it, the absence of a longer campaign or any systemic content beyond gear-chasing becomes conspicuous fast. PC controls via keyboard and mouse are also worth flagging: the click-to-move scheme feels ported from a console mindset, and a controller is strongly recommended for comfortable play. Build variety, while real at the artifact and enchantment level, lacks the depth to sustain the kind of theorycrafting that keeps genre veterans occupied past hour twenty. Mojang has formally concluded live development on Minecraft Dungeons, meaning what is on the store now is what you get. That is neither a dealbreaker nor a secret. Taken as a complete, finite experience, it holds together better than its lean design suggests. Just do not come looking for the branching depth of a proper RPG. Come for the co-op, stay for the loot pings, and accept the narrow horizon.
