I've never been the type to let a game run in the background, but Throne of the Herald makes the idle-RPG format feel less like digital busywork and more like legitimate character progression. The expansion adds new locations, gear crafting, and monsters without breaking what made the base game work: you can step away, come back to meaningful gains, and decide how much active input you want. The writing doesn't pretend to be anything profound, and that's fine, the expansion knows exactly what it is. If you're burnt out on action RPGs or just want something that doesn't demand constant attention, this scratches that itch cleanly. It's not for players craving narrative depth or complex builds, but for anyone who enjoyed the original Melvor, the new content extends that loop without padding it with filler.
