Gear.Club Unlimited 2 Ultimate Edition
Four-player split-screen, 50-plus licensed cars, and zero sim-tax, but the forgiving AI and Switch-port origins keep this from being anything more than a rainy-Sunday couch filler.
Veredicto de GamerScout
Best for casual couch-racing nights on a budget; sim racers and solo grinders will hit its ceiling fast.

Club Unlimited 2 Ultimate Edition
My Saturday-night crew has a simple test for any racing game: can four people pile onto the couch, pick it up in five minutes, and still be arguing about it an hour later? Gear.Club Unlimited 2 Ultimate Edition just about passes that test, though it earns the grade mostly on sheer content volume rather than on any particular spark of quality. The package is genuinely big. You get a career mode built around rescuing your family's racing team, a Porsche Series that works its way up to the iconic 911 930 Turbo, an Endurance Championship featuring the Ford GT40 MK I Gulf on the official 24H Le Mans circuit, and more than 250 races spread across mountain roads, desert stages, coastal stretches, and nature parks. The roster clears 50-plus licensed cars from manufacturers including Porsche, McLaren, Mercedes, and BMW, and the Performance Shop lets you buy and tier-up specialist engine, tyre, and bodywork bays to gradually turn your cars into something properly fast. The upgrade grind is real, fully kitting out a car takes patience, but you can clear most events without maxing everything out. For casual players and newcomers, the accessibility bar is genuinely low. Brake assist, steering aid, and traction control are all switchable, and a rewind feature means a botched hairpin is a mild annoyance rather than a race-ender. Veterans will likely find that same leniency kills the tension; the AI does not push back hard, and with 12 opponents per race you mostly cruise to the front by mid-career. Turn off the racing line guide and kill the assists if you want any real resistance, it does sharpen things up. The driving model sits firmly in arcade territory: cars feel planted and weighty enough to be satisfying, but mechanical tuning has limited real-world impact. Think Test Drive Unlimited lite, not Gran Turismo. The multiplayer hook is the honest selling point here. Up to four players in local split-screen is increasingly rare in modern PC racing, and it works. Gamepad support is solid with DualShock and DualSense both recognized natively, so you are not hunting for drivers on game night. Remote Play Together also means you can run a session over the internet without everyone owning a copy. For a wheel-and-pedal setup this is not a title worth calibrating a high-end rig for, save the Fanatec for Assetto Corsa. A standard gamepad is the sweet spot and the game knows it. The Steam Deck verification is genuine and the game runs cleanly in handheld mode, which is a nice bonus. Where it falls down is technical polish. The game started life as a Switch exclusive and that heritage shows: texture tiling, shadow pop-in, and audio inconsistencies (some opponent cars produce no engine sound at all) are hard to ignore once you notice them. The Mixed Steam review score at roughly 67 percent positive reflects a real split between players who found a low-pressure arcade racer to enjoy at a low price and those who compared it unfavorably to what else the PC racing market offers at any given price point. Context matters here: judged against Forza Horizon or even older Grid entries, this does not compete. Judged as a couch-multiplayer filler with a long roster and breezy progression, it does a job.
