Acerca de Dead by Daylight - The Halloween Chapter (DLC)
I'll be straight with you: the Halloween Chapter carries real weight in Dead by Daylight history, and that weight is earned. This was the DLC that proved Behaviour could pull off licensed horror icons without it feeling like a cash grab. Michael Myers, known in-game as The Shape, plays completely differently from the base-game killers. His power, Evil Within, forces you to hang back and stalk survivors at a distance, slowly filling a three-tier meter. At Tier I you're painfully slow and your terror radius is almost nothing. At Tier III, you lunge further, move faster, and can down survivors in a single hit. The climb is the tension. Players who want to sprint into chases immediately will find him maddening, but veterans who understand spacing and add-on synergy, especially picks like Tombstone Piece or Judith's Tombstone, will find him one of the more rewarding killers to master. On the survivor side, Laurie Strode rounds out the package. Her three teachable perks, Decisive Strike, Object of Obsession, and Sole Survivor, form a high-risk, high-reward kit built around the Obsession mechanic. Decisive Strike is a certified anti-tunnel tool that lets you stun a killer mid-carry if you hit the skill check. Object of Obsession creates a mutual aura-share with the killer, which sounds like a liability but becomes a serious information weapon in skilled hands. Sole Survivor loses steam when teammates are alive but becomes surprisingly threatening in endgame scenarios. Together, these perks have made their way into countless builds across the entire survivor roster via the Bloodweb prestige system. The Haddonfield map, Lampkin Lane, deserves a mention. Suburban houses, white picket fences, and Myers' iconic theme recreated in-engine. The sound design earns its keep here. The ambient quiet before a Tier III Myers closes in is genuinely unsettling in a way that the larger, more chaotic DBD maps just aren't. Here's the critical thing to know before you pull the trigger: as of January 2026, the Halloween Chapter was permanently retired from the Dead by Daylight storefront after Behaviour's licensing agreement expired. If you're seeing this DLC available for purchase through a third-party key retailer, you are likely buying a legacy key from before that delisting. Players who already own it can still play it fully, and the characters remain supported. But new buyers need to verify the key is valid and activatable on their platform before committing. For horror fans and DBD veterans looking to add one of the game's most atmospheric and mechanically distinct killers, this chapter has always been a standout. Just go in with your eyes open about its licensing status.
