Chivalry 2 - King's Edition Content
Sixty-four knights screaming at each other over castle walls, and somehow it never gets old. Chaotic, committed, and sharper than its price tag suggests.
Veredicto de GamerScout
Best for players who want large-scale medieval mayhem over ranked grind - go in knowing active development has ended.

I've logged more hours in Chivalry 2 than I'd like to admit for someone who writes about shooters for a living. There's no ranked ladder, no battle pass guilt-tripping you into grinding, and no twitch-reflex arms race. What there is: 64-player team objective matches where you are, at all times, approximately one ballista bolt away from a humiliating death. That chaos is the whole point, and Torn Banner nailed it. The combat system sits in an interesting spot. It's built around slashes, overheads, stabs, feints, ripostes, and parries, with stamina management underneath all of it. Two-handers hit wide arcs and punish grouped enemies hard. Faster one-handed weapons reward footwork and timing. Archers occupy a contested corner of the meta - useful for forcing attackers to use cover, but historically complained about for generous aim assist. The developers built in live tuning so weapon values can be adjusted server-side without a full patch, which kept the balance conversation moving post-launch even if it never fully settled. Hitbox consistency is the more honest complaint: at higher ping the registration gets sloppy in ways that will irritate anyone used to sub-20ms shooter netcode. If you're on a low-latency connection you'll barely notice. If you're not, you will. The meat of the game is Team Objective mode. Multi-stage maps ask one team to push siege towers, burn tents, destroy trebuchets, or escort caravans while the other defends. These maps are designed with choke points and flanking routes that reward players who actually read the objective rather than just swinging at the nearest enemy. Brawl mode is the pressure-valve release - up to 40 players in a free-for-all where the only legal weapons are fish, chairs, rolling pins, and bread. It is exactly as stupid as it sounds, and it works completely. There's also a Duel mode for one-on-one combat that the dedicated community takes far more seriously than the base game's casual tone might suggest. The King's Edition bundles cosmetic content on top of the base game. If you care about drip in a medieval slasher, it's relevant. If you don't, it isn't. The game itself hit its final major update, called Regicide, in May 2024, which means the content pipeline has closed. What you see is what you get going forward, and the player population has thinned accordingly - though servers still fill at peak hours. The community skews chaotic-good: people playing lutes in the middle of sieges, teammates accidentally (or not) catching friendly fire from greatsword swings, and voice lines being deployed as psychological warfare. The learning curve is real but reasonable, and the skill ceiling on the melee mechanics is genuinely deep once you start reading windup animations and mixing feints into your combos. This is not a game for people who want ranked progression, clean netcode, or a dev team still pushing patches. It's for people who want to feel like they're in a medieval siege film with 63 other people who have varying degrees of commitment to the bit. That audience will get a lot out of it.
