If you've been poking around Tempest and wondering what the deal is with the Veti, the elusive third faction that's been lurking in the background since launch, here's your answer: they're getting their own dedicated singleplayer campaign as a paid expansion called The Veti's Wrath, due out later this year.
The fact that developer Slipgate Ironworks is doing this as a full expansion rather than just folding the Veti into a patch or a small DLC bundle says a lot about the ambition here. Separate factions with meaningfully different playstyles and story perspectives is exactly the kind of depth that RTS fans have been hungry for, and it sounds like the Veti campaign is being treated as a proper standalone arc rather than an afterthought. A demo for the expansion is already live if you want to get a feel for how the Veti actually play before committing, which is a genuinely smart move for a faction that's been this mysterious for this long. No firm release date beyond "later this year" yet, but with a playable slice already out in the wild, the wait probably won't be too painful.
