About Slide - Animal Race
I grabbed Slide expecting a polished Mario Kart alternative for four-player nights, but it's rougher than that. You pick a cute animal and slide across wild tracks, jumping over hazards and snagging power-ups to bash friends off screen. It supports up to eight local players, which is genuinely ambitious, and the core mechanic of managing your slide momentum is there. The problem is the controls feel slippery in a way that frustrates rather than flows, and the track design doesn't quite justify the chaos it creates. Where Slide lands is as a "turn it on for laughs" party game, not a serious couch racer. It's cheap, it runs on potato hardware, and eight bodies in a room wrestling one controller per player does create absurd moments. Just know you're signing up for jank-adjacent fun, not a tight racing experience. If your crew is forgiving and you've got a pile of gamepads, you might squeeze a few laughs out of it.
