Legacy of Sin: The Father Sacrifice

I went in expecting a straightforward defense game with story beats, but Legacy of Sin wants to be three games at once: tactical positioning, character-driven narrative, and resource management. When it commits to the fantasy premise, orcs sieging your kingdom in early-modern combat, there's something compelling underneath the rough edges. The mixed reviews tell the real story: half the players found the mechanics click into place once you understand unit synergy and positioning, while the other half hit walls where difficulty spikes feel less like challenge and more like punishment. The writing leans into that 90s serial fantasy tone the devs promise, which works if you're here for melodrama rather than subtle characterization. But the core problem is pacing. Battles that should feel tense drag, and the grind between story beats can test your patience. If you've got tolerance for janky indie games and genuinely like tower-defense puzzle-solving wrapped in dark fantasy, there's a weird little gem here.
