About Fortnite Anime Legends Pack (PS5)
Let's be straight with you: this is not a game. It is a cosmetic DLC pack for Fortnite, Epic's free-to-play battle royale, and it does absolutely nothing to your stats, loadout, or ranked performance. If you landed here hoping for a weapon balance patch or a new movement mechanic, wrong page. What you are buying is ten items that live in your locker and nowhere else. The pack ships three full skin sets built around pre-existing Fortnite characters given an anime cel-shading treatment. Golden Gear Midas gets the most interesting treatment of the three: his outfit comes with a helmet alternate style toggle and, more notably, an active Golden Touch ability that applies a toon-shaded golden wrap to whatever weapon you have equipped. It is a cosmetic effect only, changes nothing about damage or time-to-kill, but it does look sharp in the kill cam. His matching 24 Karat Katana pickaxe and Golden Crash Back Bling round out the set. Ricochet Rox swaps her original exosuit for a hoodie-and-skirt silhouette with the Whirlberry Back Bling, a berry-shaped animatronic with an emoticon face, and the Blazeberry Blade Pickaxe, an energy blade with an aqua-and-black hilt. Ready Penny, the third skin, keeps punk accents with lightning bolt makeup and spiked gloves, paired with the Little Black Bag Back Bling and Glimmering Edge Pickaxe. The tenth item is the Lil' Kart traversal emote, which sits you on a tiny go-kart. Community reception was split roughly where you would expect: Midas fans appreciated the Golden Touch visual, Ready Penny's design earned genuine praise, while Ricochet Rox landed as the weakest of the three for a chunk of the playerbase. Some Fortnite regulars also pushed back on yet another Midas variant given how many iterations the character has had. The practical question is whether the item-to-cost ratio makes sense for you. You get three complete outfit sets (skin, back bling, pickaxe per character) plus one emote. That is a reasonable count for a physical bundle in this genre. The cel-shaded style is cohesive across all three sets, which matters when you are mixing and matching pieces in the locker. One honest caveat: the Lil' Kart emote and the Whirlberry Back Bling are the kind of items that look cute in the lobby and get ignored by week three. Ready Penny's Little Black Bag, on the other hand, pairs surprisingly well outside of its own set. Bottom line from the shooter desk: cosmetics do not move your crosshair, but if anime-styled Fortnite skins are your thing and you want three character sets with matched accessories in one purchase, this pack does deliver what it promises without padding. Just do not expect the Golden Touch ability to give you any edge on someone with a 144hz panel and better aim. Fred, Scout Team
