About Fortnite - Anime Legends Pack (PS4)
Let's be clear about what this is: a cosmetic DLC pack for Fortnite, a free-to-play battle royale. Nothing in this bundle changes how guns feel, how the movement snaps, or how your ranked grind goes. What it does is dress three familiar characters in cel-shaded anime makeovers and hand you the matching gear to show off in the pre-game lobby. The ten items split cleanly across the three characters. Golden Gear Midas gets the 24 Karat Katana Pickaxe, the Golden Crash Back Bling (basically his helmet worn as a backpack), and the most interesting trick in the pack: the Golden Touch ability, which applies a toon-shaded golden wrap to whatever weapon you have equipped. It's a passive cosmetic effect tied to the outfit, which is a step above a static skin and the reason most players consider Midas the headliner here. Ricochet Rox comes with the Whirlberry Back Bling and the Blazeberry Blade Pickaxe, a thin energy-blade harvesting tool in aqua and black. Ready Penny rounds things out with the Little Black Bag Back Bling and the Glimmering Edge Pickaxe, a graffiti-covered tool with an oversized gold blade. The Lil' Kart traversal emote, where your character rides a tiny go-kart, is the tenth item and a solid bonus for a pack at this tier. Community reaction has been mixed in the predictable ways. Golden Gear Midas landed well because the Golden Touch weapon effect is genuinely visible in-match, and Midas already has a fanbase. Ready Penny's outfit design got solid marks, though her back bling struck some players as filler. Ricochet Rox split opinion hardest: the dark hoodie, pink skirt, and legwarmer combo reads either stylish or generic depending on who you ask. There's also a reasonable argument that Epic has released enough Midas variants at this point that another one, even a well-executed one, raises eyebrows. The honest framing here: if anime-style cosmetics are your thing and you like at least two of the three characters, this pack delivers consistent art direction across all ten items, with the Golden Touch mechanic giving it slightly more in-match presence than a pure skin swap. If you need all three to justify the spend, Ricochet Rox might leave you cold. This is Fortnite cosmetics doing what Fortnite cosmetics do. No surprises, no disappointments outside of your expectations. Fred, Scout Team
