This standalone pack exists for players who started with the Standard Edition and want the Attitude Era flavor added on top. The base game those characters drop into is legitimately solid, which matters for context. Reversals feel tighter than in recent years, the stamina system adds a layer of match pacing that rewards players who read the rhythm of a fight, and the AI is meaningfully smarter on default difficulty. Match types including Inferno, I Quit, Three Stages of Hell, and Dumpster add real variety to the match-type menu. The new ragdoll physics make weapon spots with thumbtacks, ladders, and steel steps land with actual visual weight. Commentary with Wade Barrett and Booker T is the best the series has had in years. MyGM is deep enough to swallow a weekend. All of that is the foundation these two characters live in. The elephant in the room is the Ringside Pass, and you need to know how it interacts with any add-on purchase. WWE 2K26 replaced its traditional DLC model with a battle pass structure featuring free and premium tiers across six planned seasons. Earning wrestlers through that system is a slow grind, and the community has been vocal about how long it takes to unlock content at a natural play pace after 2K patched out certain XP shortcuts. Triple H '98 and Stephanie McMahon '00 arrive as playable characters you can use immediately via this pack, which is a genuine upside compared to grinding them out through the pass, assuming they ever appear there at all. The Signature Taunt emote is strictly cosmetic and feeds into The Island's social layer, which has its own polarizing reputation for microtransaction-heavy progression. For a hardcore Triple H fan or anyone building a late-90s Attitude Era themed roster for Universe or MyGM sessions, these two characters carry real appeal. Triple H '98 covers the DX era, which is one of the most-requested periods in the series, and Stephanie McMahon '00 fills a specific McMahon-family storytelling slot that the base roster leaves open. If neither of those names hit you with immediate excitement, this pack has nothing else to offer. The Taunt emote is filler, and filler is not a reason to spend money.
